Using federal grant monies, MPS was able to purchase ten additional iPad 2 devices to enhance instruction at each of the three elementary buildings. Professional development will be provided early in the 2011-2012 school year for teachers at each of the three buildings. Add Comment Teachers and students have been using our iPods and iPads in classrooms throughout the district. Special education teachers and elementary teachers have been leading the charge on getting this handheld technology into our students' eager hands. Students and teachers LOVE using the iPods and iPads to work on learning sight words, developing number fluency, recording short videos, taking pictures, recording their voices while reading for playback at a later time and much more. In March, the district completed the installation and configuration of the new WiFi network. Now, students and teachers can use the network to access information from the web on the district's iPods/iPads from any classroom. This technology provides MPS teachers and students with yet another tool to enhance the classroom learning environment. | Ted BerryhillDistrict Technology Coach ArchivesCategories |
